Antique Jewelry Repair & Restoration
Antique Jewelry Restoration Process
The process of restoring antique jewelry usually involves cleaning the piece, examining what the issues are and then repairing any damage that has occurred. In some cases, the jewelry may need to be re-plated in order to restore its original luster. Depending on the extent of the damage, the entire process can take anywhere from a few hours to several weeks.
For antique jewelry, we offer a few different options depending on what the customer is looking for. We can repurpose an existing piece by modernizing it or incorporating it into a new design, replicate an heirloom so that it can be passed down to future generations, or restore the jewelry to its original condition.
Repurposing Antique Jewelry
Sometimes an antique piece of jewelry just doesn’t fit into your current style. But that doesn’t mean you have to get rid of it! We can take your antique jewelry and give it a new lease on life by modernizing the design. This could involve adding new gemstones, resetting the diamonds or other stones, or creating a completely new piece of jewelry using the existing stones from the antique jewelry.
Replicating an Heirloom
If you have a family heirloom that you want to keep in the family but are worried about wearing it every day, we can replicate the piece so that you have one to wear and one to save. We will take detailed measurements and photographs of the original jewelry piece and then create an exact replica. This replica can be made from different materials if you want it to be more durable or less expensive than the original.
